About This Shelter

The Emmanuel House has been serving Santa Clara County since 1966 and endeavors to provide the services needed to answer the questions of homelessness. The Emmanuel House has a full range of services to adult men needing assistance to make the final move from homelessness. The Emmanuel House is also a Sober Living Environment which requires that all individuals seeking shelter be alcohol and drug free upon entry.

Over Night Shelter Program
Provides overnight shelter to homeless men. Sign-up is at 1:30 p.m. If there are more men than available beds, a lottery will be held to determine who can stay. All guests must take a shower in order to stay the night.

$5.00 each additional night

Monday - Saturday
Lunch: 12:15PM - 1:00PM
Dinner: 5:15PM - 6:00PM
Sunday dinner: 5:15PM - 6:00PM

Showers for Men
Men are provided fresh towels, hot water, and soap to wash with.10:00 A.M. - 11:00 A.M. Only

Motive Man Program
The Motive man Program is a short term residency program designed for men who are employed with a company or business in the local community on a full time basis / or living ON SSI/SSDI. The purpose of the program is to provide temporary shelter for the homeless and recovering individual who is in need of support and assistance, while saving money to develop a future independent lifestyle.

Can pass a urinalysis test at time of intake
Have a desire to develop an independent life
Pay $100 per week starting at time of intake. $20 of the fee is set aside into a personal savings account designed to help men make the move out into a room or department successfully.
Soup Kitchen
Men, women, and children of any age are welcome to eat a free nutritious lunch or dinner every day  (no lunch on Sundays). Lunch is held from 12:15 - 1pm and dinner is from 5:15 - 6pm.
