The Salvation Army Miami Area Command offers 236 beds distributed among three lodges that provide temporary housing to women and families, single men, veterans, and persons dealing with HIV/AIDS.
These temporary programs are designed to empower residents to regain their independence and return to being self-sufficient members of our community.
The Social Services Department is shaped as a support network that assists shelter residents with day-to-day care and services. This support system consists of Case Management, 24-hour and 7-days a week staff supervision, janitorial and kitchen staff. Family & Women's Lodge: The Salvation Army has 83 beds available to configure rooms to accommodate single females, single mothers with children and intact families. Additional services such as tutoring and storytelling are provided through our community partners.For information on admission to The Salvation Army's Family & Women's Lodge Program, call 305.637.6700
Men's Lodge: The Men's Lodge serves 115 beds to homeless, single men. Clients may include transients, homeless, undocumented and our Nation's veterans.For information on admission to The Salvation Army's Men's Lodge Program, call 305.637.6700
Adult Rehabilitation Center: The Salvation Army's Adult Rehabilitation Center runs a six-month residential program with a capacity of 135 residents. The program reaches the outstanding success rate of 26% and consists of spiritual, social and emotional assistance for men and women who have lost the ability to cope with their problems and provide for themselves. Participants are exposed to a comprehensive approach to recovery. The work therapy program of the center includes the collection and repair of donations-in-kind and the operation of Salvation Army Family Stores, in which donated materials are sold.
