UCAP's Shepherd's Cove is one of the largest shelters in Prince George's County, offering emergency housing and comprehensive social services for women and children. In 2006, the shelter served over 800 women and children. Happy Places = Happy Faces organizers chose to makeover this former elementary school to ensure that residents could live in a warm and inviting space that not only supported their efforts to become self sufficient, but also enhanced their sense of self worth.
