Family Promise/WIHN (Wilmington Interfaith Hospitality Network) provides the only transitional housing in the tri-county area for families who are victims of domestic violence with our Families Forward program. Our emergency shelter program, (WIHN) unites community partners in a collaborative effort to assist homeless families. On a rotating basis, 13 host congregations provide accommodations and meals for up to four families for one week, four times a year. An additional 25 congregations support the hosts, providing material, human, and financial resources to support the program. Volunteers from the community provide meals and support services. A Day Center is located at 4938 Oleander Drive, where staff works intensively with the families as they seek jobs, housing, health care, and other resources necessary for independent living.
