Clark Homes is an affordable rental property, managed by the City of Flagstaff Housing Authority. Clark Homes has 1-4 bedroom homes available. Clark Homes strives to be a drug-free and crime-free community that is safe and comfortable for families of all sizes. Clark has a skilled maintenance crew on staff to respond to any maintenance needs residents may experience. Units are inspected regularly to ensure that they are in compliance with federal health and safety regulations, and all maintenance needs are taken care of.

Who is Eligible?

Clark Homes is limited to low-income families and individuals. The Housing Authority determines your eligibility based on:
    Annual gross income
    Whether you qualify as elderly, a person with a disability, or as a family
    If the adult members of your household submit a criminal background check free of drug,and violence related charges during the past three years.
If you are eligible, the Housing Authority will check your references to make sure you and your family will be good tenants. The Housing Authority will deny admission to any applicant whose habits and practices may be expected to have a detrimental effect on other tenants or on the project's environment.
How long is the Waiting List?
For Flagstaff residents, the average wait time is currently 6 months to 2 years depending on the bedroom size your family qualifies for. However, this amount of time could vary depending on a variety of factors.
Are there any Selection Preferences?
Based on a point system, points are awarded for residency, housing need and current victims of domestic violence or those displaced by domestic violence. Points will be awarded at time of application.
How is Rent Determined?
Residents' monthly rent is based on the family's anticipated gross annual income less deductions, if any. Annual income is the anticipated total income from all sources received from the family head and spouse, and each additional member of the family 18 years of age or older. Rent is 30% of the monthly adjusted income.
Are any Utilities included in the monthly rent payment?
Clark Homes pays for water, sewage and trash.
How long can families/individuals stay in Clark Homes?
In general, residents may stay in Clark Homes as long as they comply with the lease.
When can you apply?
You can apply at the Clark Homes office between the hours of 8:30 am to 11:30 am and 1:30 pm to 4:30pm, Monday through Thursday and 8:30 am to 11:30 am on Friday. If you are unable to come to the office to fill out the application, you can mail in a written request for an application to be mailed to you.  Written requests can be mailed to: 980 N. Thorpe Rd., Flagstaff, AZ 86001.
How can you check your status on the Waiting List?
Status updates cannot be given out over the phone. You can check your status on the waiting list by coming into the office or by submitting a written request for a status update. While on the waiting list, we ask that you please report all changes regarding contact information, household composition, employment and income either in writing, in person, or via email, so as to keep your file current.

This apartment accepts HUD subsidies.For HUD subsidized apartments, if you qualify for low income housing and they have available apartments, rent is based on 30% of your Adjusted Gross Income.Call for details.
