Highlands Cove Apartments offers affordable housing through Section 42, a program that gives tax credits to landlords who rent to low-income tenants. The rents depend on the average income and utility costs in the area. At least one-fifth of these apartments must have these reduced rates for eligible tenants.
This program helps people with moderate incomes find affordable housing. The rents are lower than the market rates, but you have to pay the full rent yourself. The program is not based on your income, but on the income limit for your area. You can only join the program if your household income is below that limit.

Our affordable apartment homes include 62 apartments with two, three, and four bedrooms, all containing two full bathrooms and large porches or patios. The custom interiors of the apartment homes include ceramic floor tiles and Energy Star rated appliances. In addition to the numerous apartment home amenities, the community includes an on-site mail center, a recreational area with playground, a clubhouse with computers for resident use, a picnic pavilion and ample resident and guest parking all within a peaceful, private setting. The community is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of traffic in a quiet neighborhood, yet is conveniently located close to employment, schools, daycare centers, shopping, and downtown Lake Placid, Capital of the Caladiums.
