About This Building

The Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) program provides rental assistance to low-income families through Federal funds administered by the United States Department of Housing and Community Development (HUD). Often referred to by the portion of the legislation that authorized the program, Section 8 provides assistance to over 2 million low-income people nationwide each year.
Program participants may choose to live anywhere in the United States (some first-year residency requirements apply) and may select their own units, which must meet HUD standards for affordability and for safety. Once tenant and landlord sign a lease, the tenant family is responsible for a portion of their rent depending on their income, and the HCV program pays the remainder directly to the landlord.
Voucher HomeOwnership
For those of lower income, and those who are dependent upon assistance programs, the dream of home ownership may only be achieved through provision of additional subsidies and innovative financing, as embodied in our Voucher Home Ownership Program.
