West-In-Arms provides affordable housing for the Disabled.

Residents enjoy single occupancy bedrooms with congregate living and dining areas. Specially equipped vans provide transportation for social and recreational activities.

Staff prepare three meals daily and are available for emergencies at all times.

Rent Subsidy:West-In-Arms contracts with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to provide housing assistance for those persons whose income meets HUD guidelines for supplementation.

The amount of subsidy differs depending on income and is determined following a review of personal financial assets.

Who Qualifies:

Persons applying for residence must meet the federal definition of handicapped.

This includes physical disabilities as well as intellectual disabilities.

Applicants must be over 18 years of age and be capable of managing personal care independently or with the assistance of a formal attendant care program.

Other requirements include the independent evacuation of the premises, self-administration of medications and basic money management skills.  

Application Process:

All applicants are placed on a waiting list in the order in which they are received.

Applicants must qualify according to the agency's Tenant Selection Plan.
