Verandas Senior Housing Project-Based Rental Assistance Waiting List

The Punta Gorda Housing Authority (PGHA) Near-Elderly (55+) Project-Based Rental Assistance waiting list for apartments at Verandas Senior Housing is currently open. Applications are being accepted from March 8, 2021 until further notice.

There are two ways to apply during the opening period: 

1. Print the online paper application available here. Select the link in the sentence that says "A Pre-Application can be printed by clicking HERE."
2. Pick up an application from the PGHA Administration Office, located at 340 Gulf Breeze Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.

Once the application has been completed, it must be either:

1. Mailed to the Punta Gorda Housing Authority, 340 Gulf Breeze Ave, Punta Gorda, FL 33950.
2. Faxed to (941) 639-1753.

This waiting list has the following preferences:

• Residency
  Household whose head, spouse or sole member currently resides or works in Charlotte County, FL or the City of North Port, FL
• Displacement
  Household has been displaced by no fault of your own by any of the following:
  • By government action
  • Home was extensively damaged or destroyed as a result of a natural disaster (for example, hurricane, local flooding and wildfire)
• Working Family
  Household whose head, spouse or sole member have verifiable employment at a minimum of 20 hours per week
• Disabled Family
  Household whose head, spouse or sole member receive social security disability benefits, supplemental security income, or any other payment based on the individuals’ inability to work
• Elderly Family
  Household whose head, spouse or sole member age 62 or older

Selected applicants will be placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
