Eligibility
The Brown County Housing Authority is currently accepting public housing waiting list applications for families and elderly/disabled individuals.
This Housing Authority has an approximate wait time for public housing of 3-6 months.
There are three ways to apply for public housing:
1. Send a written request to have an application mailed to you, the address is 400 N. Maple, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
2. Send the Housing Authority an email requesting they email you an application [email protected].
3. Stop in the office to pick up an application during normal business hours located at 400 N. Maple, Mt. Sterling, IL 62353.
Once you application has been completed you can mail or hand deliver it to the address listed above.
Be sure to include copies of birth certificates, social security cards, and photo IDs for all adult household members.
