Vermilion County, Illinois Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Vermilion Housing Authority (VHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed. Applications were last accepted from December 7, 2020, until an unconfirmed close date. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Live, work, or attend school in Vermilion County
• Veteran
  • Head of household has served in the United States Armed Forces and who was discharged or released from such service under conditions other than dishonorable
• Working
  • Head/Spouse/Co-head work a minimum of twenty (20) hours per week
• Elderly
  • Head/Spouse/Co-head is 62 years or older
• Disabled
  • Head/Spouse/Co-head is disabled
• Displaced by Natural Disaster
  • Fire, flood, earthquake or other federally declared disaster that has caused the unit to be uninhabitable
• Displaced by Domestic Violence
  • Displaced by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault and stalking

It is not known how selected applicants were placed on the waiting list.
