Lee and Harnett County, North Carolina Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Sanford Housing Authority (SHA) Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

The SHA last accepted Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher applications for this waiting list from January 4, 2022, until March 4, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

There were two ways to apply during the opening period:

1. Pick up an application from the SHA.
2. Print the paper application.

Once the paper application was completed, it was either:

1. Dropped off in person to the SHA drop box.
2. Postmarked by March 4, 2022 and mailed to the Sanford Housing Authority.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Involuntary Displacement
• Homeless Veterans
• Chronically Homeless
• Single Elderly/ Disabled
• Elderly or Disabled with Minor Children
• Homeless Families that include minor children who are identified by a social service agency providing shelter or law enforcement
• In Place – eligible applicants who reside in units at the time of the PBV property owner’s proposal selection date for Project-based assistance

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by date and time the application is received, weighed by order of preferences.
