Eligibility

The Clay Center Housing Authority (CCHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled households.

The CCHA offer one Public Housing community with 26 units for families and senior/disabled households, ranging in size from 1 to 3 bedrooms.

There are two ways to apply:

  1. Request to have an application mailed to you by calling (402) 762-3503, from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm CT, Monday-Friday.
  2. Visit the CCHA office to pick up an application, located at 114 E Division St., Clay Center, NE 68933, from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
Once the application has been completed, it can be mailed or hand delivered to the address listed above, from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm, Monday-Friday.

Be sure to include these documents with the application: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, government issued IDs for all household members, SS/SSI/unemployment award letter, and proof of all other income.

The CCHA does not have a preference.

Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the application is received.

Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Contact the housing authority to find out how to update application information.

For more information, call the CCHA office at (402) 762-3503, from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm, Monday-Friday.
