Eligibility
The Gothenburg Housing Authority (GHA) is currently accepting Public Housing waiting list applications for families and senior/disabled households.
The GHA offers one Public Housing community with 40 units for senior/disabled households, and 28 scattered site homes for families.
There are two ways to apply:
- Visit the GHA to pick up an application, located at 810 20th Street, Gothenburg, NE 69138, from 8:00 am until 4:30 pm CT, Monday-Friday.
- Download an application here, then print and complete.
Once the application has been completed, you must call the GHA at (308) 537-7275 to make an appointment to return the application.
Be sure to bring these documents with you to the appointment: Social Security Cards and birth certificates for all household members, photo IDs for all adult household members, and proof of all income.
The GHA does not have a preference.
Applicants will be placed on the waiting list by the date and time the application is received.
Important note: Applicants who have been placed on the waiting list must inform the housing authority immediately if your application information changes (such as contact information, income, and household members). In the case that the office sends a notice that does not get returned, or if application information is out of date, your name may be terminated from the waiting list. Contact the housing authority to find out how to update application information.
