Crook, Deschutes, and Jefferson County, Oregon Housing Choice Voucher Waiting List

The Housing Works Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is closed.

Housing Works last accepted Section 8 HCV applications for this waiting list from January 10, 2022, until January 14, 2022. There is no notice of when this waiting list will reopen.

Please note: According to Housing Works, "All applications will be purged from the annual waiting list on December 31st. If you are not selected by December 31st of the year that you apply, you must reapply the following year."

To apply during the opening period, applicants were required to complete the online application.

The maximum income limits for each household size and county were listed on the public notice.

This waiting list had the following preferences:

• Local residency
  • Applicants that reside in Crook, Deschutes or Jefferson Counties or whose household includes a family member who works, or has been notified that they are hired to work, in Crook, Deschutes or Jefferson Counties
• Single applicants who are elderly or disabled will be given a selection priority over all “other single” applicants
  • “Other singles” denotes a one-person household in which the individual member is not elderly or disabled.
  • Such applicants will be placed on the waiting list in accordance with any other preferences to which they are entitled, but they cannot be selected for assistance before any one-person elderly or disabled family.

Selected applicants were placed on the waiting list by random lottery, weighed by order of preferences.
